DUST modeling, calibration/validation examples
This includes a collection of screendumps (thumbnails leading to the full-resolution dumps) from a small set of 'DUST events" characterized by a steep increase (and subsequent decrease) of observed concentrations within a period of one week. The PM10 monitoring values are courtesy of R.Khoury, ELARD Group, Earth Link & Advanced Resources Development.
The selected 2009 weekly data sets come from a single monitoring station in central/southern Abu Dhabi,
Muzeira station at the Liwa oasis.
The scenarios were run with standard sets of model parameters in an ongoing calibration exercise
aiming at a refined version of the basic wind erosion model (and its input data sets)
by analyzing basic model performance, error statistics, and residual patterns.
Each of the images below serves as a link to the full sized screen dump.
2009 02 10 maximum: 1,025 µg/m3, observed: 2009 02 12 (please note that the monitoring instrument/data are obviously limited to an upper value of 1,000 µg/m3)
